In September 2025, Jasmijn Doukje had the honor of participating in the group exhibition “Impressions of Humanity” at Fondazione Pastificio Cerere in Rome, organized in collaboration with Fondazione MSD.
Her work for this exhibition was based on a personal experience in a Dutch nursing home, reflecting on the fragility of aging, the emotional labor of care work, and the irreplaceable importance of human connection in healthcare. Using AI-generated references as a starting point and translating them into oil on raw linen, Jasmijn Doukje explored the tension between digital efficiency and the tactile, human presence of caregiving.
